MARDI GRAS COMES TO BIRMINGHAM
Walkabout Birmingham to share in the festive spirit of the Sydney Mardi Gras
As Sydney, Australia comes alive with colour and gets covered in glitter for their annual celebration of love and diversity, Walkabout Birmingham will be joining in the fun and getting into the Mardi Gras spirit on Friday March 4th 2016.
Sydney Mardi Gras is one the world's most spectacular celebrations of LGBTQI pride. In 2015, the parade included 10,000 participants, spread over 145 floats, had over 15,000 fairy lights, used 5km of fabric and over half a tonne of glitter - impressive stats for a parade which in 2016 celebrates 38 years of celebrating the power and beauty of diversity, however you identify.
Held down under Walkabout Birmingham in their basement club, this all inclusive, rave style dance party will feature Special Guest DJ's and performers to be announced, with plenty of glow sticks, dancers, confetti and more as we put on a party to remember.
Keeping with the spirit of Sydney Mardi Gras, there will be donation buckets available with funds to be donated to local LGBTQI charities in Birmingham.
Times: 10pm till late This is an 18+ event and ID is required.
